Waterbury Regional Chamber's Leadership Greater Waterbury to Honor Carl Rosa at June 15 Graduation

On Wednesday, June 15, The Waterbury Regional Chamber's Leadership Greater Waterbury will honor Carl Rosa, CEO of Main Street Waterbury, as the 2011 Leadership Greater Waterbury Alumni of the Year. Public invited to Graduation at Post University at 5:30 PM. Rosa is a graduate of the LGW Class of 2005. Rosa joined the LGW Steering Committee immediately following graduation and quickly became a notably active member of the Committee. |

(Klimb News Wire) Lynn Ward, president and CEO of The Waterbury Regional Chamber announced that the CEO of Main Street Waterbury, Carl Rosa, will receive the Chamber’s Leadership Greater Waterbury Alumni of the Year Award for 2011. Rosa will receive his recognition during the June 15 graduation at Post University of the Leadership Greater Waterbury Leadership Class of 2011.
Leadership Greater Waterbury (LGW) works to develop, both personally and professionally, individuals who are committed to volunteer leadership and who aspire to roles of responsibility in civic, professional, and community organizations. The goal of LGW is to provide a learning environment for participants to meet regional leaders and discuss the challenges that affect the region. Throughout a nine-month leadership program given by the Waterbury Regional Chamber each year, participants receive a comprehensive overview of the economic, social, and political challenges facing the Greater Waterbury area. Each year, the interactive, creative learning environment offers class members the opportunity to learn about theories and practices of leadership through workshops, panel discussions, and team building exercises. Team projects allow participants to explore their own leadership styles while addressing specific needs of the Greater Waterbury community.
Dawn Orsini, Chairwoman of the Leadership Steering Committee, stated, “The Leadership Greater Waterbury Alumni of the Year Award is presented annually to a member of the Leadership Steering Committee whose commitment and dedication to the program have furthered our mission of providing a creative, interactive learning environment for the participants to meet regional leaders and discuss the challenges that affect the Greater Waterbury region.”
Carl Rosa is a graduate of the LGW Class of 2005. Rosa joined the LGW Steering Committee immediately following graduation and quickly became a notably active member. Orsini stated, “Carl Rosa’s commitment and belief in the LGW program, along with his unique perspective on Downtown Waterbury, have made him not only a great resource for the Committee itself, but also a tremendous resource for the class each year. He has often served as a subject matter expert for project teams, and his support specific to Economic Development Day has been invaluable. The Committee has truly benefitted from Carl’s loyal support, his willingness to share his opinion for the good of the group and his unwavering commitment to get the job done.”
The Waterbury Regional Chamber is continually looking for individuals throughout the Greater Waterbury region who are interested in becoming community leaders through their comprehensive Leadership Greater Waterbury program. The general public is welcome to attend the Leadership Greater Waterbury Class of 2011 graduation reception and alumni gathering that will be held Wednesday, June 15, 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Post University, 800 Country Club Road in Waterbury.
